Problems and Answers OKI 320T/321T
1. Problem: Printer won’t print in the right spot, block or line.
Answer: There is a two step procedure to correct this
1.1 This printer has been set to factory a default setting which emulates IMB. Check with your software provider to verify what emulation you need and get your menu settings. Once you have this information follow this procedure:
a) Press Shift and SEL to enter Menu mode.
b) Press PRINT to generate printout of menu.
c) Compare printouts and make any necessary menu changes (see page 24 ff in you Users Guide for additional information on the menu settings):
· GROUP, ITEM and SET keys work the same as they did for ML320/321 printers.
d) Press SHIFT and SEL to exit Menu and save settings.
2.2 You may need to do a top of form (TOF) adjustment. Follow this procedure:
a) With the printer deselected (SEL light off):
· Hold SHIFT and Press LF to move TOF higher (paper moves down), OR
· Hold SHIFT and press FF/LOAD to move TOF lower (paper moves up)
b) Press SEL to exit Menu and save settings.
2. Problem: My Printer is printing just printing random letters and numbers.
Answer: You will need to make a menu setting/emulation change. Refer to question #1 for step by step instructions.
3. Problem: My printer won’t print and the alarm light is on.
Answer: Load your paper, tractor or single sheet. When the paper has been loaded the alarm light will go off. Be sure to move your gray lever that is on the right to the proper position,
a) All the way forward means you are using the back tractors with tractor paper
b) In the middle means you are using single sheet paper one at a time
c) All the way back means you are using a bottom feeder
This lever tells the printer where you’re using the paper.
4. Problem: My printer won’t print, the printhead just sits there, but won’t move.
Answer: First turn your printer off. The silver bar that your printhead rides back and forth on has accumulated a buildup of ink and dust. You will need to clean this silver bar with denatured alcohol. (you can purchase denatured alcohol at your local paint supply store). Pour some denatured alcohol on a paper towel or rag. Rub the silver bar over and over getting the buildup off. Keep cleaning it until the printhead moves freely back and forth with your hand. Make a note on your calendar to clean this silver bar every 2 weeks or so depending on the usage of your printer.
5. Problem: My rear back tractor is broke.
Answer: Your printer needs to be replaced. Give us a call to purchase another one or to receive a warranty replacement if applicable.
6. Problem: How do I install Drivers?

7. Problem: How do I package my printer for shipment?
Answer: Remove your top plastics, access cover, pull up roller, back paper tray knob. To remove the pull up roller rock it forward and then up. Wrap your printer three times in large bubble and securely tape it closed everywhere. Put ½ peanuts in the bottom of the box. Set the bubble wrapped printer on top of the peanuts. Now add the rest of the peanuts on top and sides. Close and seal the box with tape. Keep your ribbon, power cord, top plastics and knob. If this is a warranty printer, tape over return label to the top with clear tape and take the printer to the nearest FedEx location.

Most HP Laser Jet printers display numerical error codes on the control panel to let you know something is wrong with the unit. Only occasionally are the codes accompanied by enough text to make them self-explanatory. The chart below shows the error codes and their explanations.
